Vol. 1 Brooklyn presents a group reading with Adam Levin, Adam Wilson, and Karolina Waclawiak in celebration of Adam Levin's short fiction collection Hot Pink.

About Hot Pink:

Adam Levin's debut novel The Instructions was one of the most buzzed-about books of 2010, a sprawling universe of "death-defying sentences, manic wit, exciting provocations and simple human warmth" (Rolling Stone). Now, in the stories of Hot Pink, Levin delivers ten smaller worlds, shaken snow-globes of overweight romantics, legless prodigies, quixotic dollmakers, Chicagoland thugs, dirty old men, protective fathers, balloon-laden dumptrucks, and walls that ooze gels. Told with lust and affection, karate and tenderness, slapstickery, ferocity, and heart, Hot Pink is the work of a major talent in his sharpest form.

About the author:

Adam Levin is the author of the novel The Instructions, a finalist for the 2010 National Jewish Book Award for Fiction, and winner of both the 2011 New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award and the inaugural Indie Booksellers Choice Award. For his short stories, Levin has won the Summer Literary Seminars Fiction Contest, as well as the Joyce Carol Oates Fiction Prize. His fiction has appeared in a number of publications, including Tin House, Esquire, and New England Review. He lives in Chicago, where he teaches Creative Writing at the School of the Art Institute.

About the readers:

Karolina Waclawiak received her MFA from Columbia University. Her first novel, How To Get Into the Twin Palms, will be released July 2012 from Two Dollar Radio. She is the Deputy Editor of The Believer.

Adam Wilson is the author of Flatscreen: A Novel (Harper Perennial, 2012). His fiction and non-fiction have appeared in many publications including The Paris Review, The Literary Review, Bookforum and The New York Times, and his short story "What's Important Is Feeling" was recently selected for the forthcoming 2012 edition of Best American Short Stories. He teaches in the Creative Writing Program at New York University, and lives in Brooklyn.
