On Friday, July 13 from 6-9pm at The powerhouse Arena, Mike Schreiber launches his first book of photography to his New York homebase. The opening reception will feature a live set from J.Period and on-location t-shirt printing by NY State of Mind. True Hip Hop is a series of photographs and stories, documented during the course of Schreiber's illustrious career.

Presented by Mighty Tanaka and The powerHouse Arena, the opening reception will welcome an exhibition of New York based photographer Mike Schreiber, whose lens has captured honest moments with hip hop's iconic leaders. Working mostly with natural light, Mike Schreiber's photos convey the true emotion of his subjects.

However, behind all the glitz and glamour exists the human element, a highly personal insight into the true character of these larger-than-life individuals. Through the photography of Mike Schreiber, people have been given access to view the true nature and emotions of some of the most celebrated names in music. True Hip Hop expresses a rarely seen insight into the lives of iconic artists through the lens of Mike Schreiber.

After acclaimed book launches in Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, and London, Schreiber brings it home to New York. Mike Schreiber will be displaying photos from the book, as well as never before seen work that he's personally chosen from his vast archive. He will also be signing books and speaking about his experiences.
