Join us to celebrate the opening of Daniel Paterna's photo show Prospect Arbor at POWERHOUSE on 8th, a new South Slope bookstore and community space.

Daniel Paterna's sparsely inhabited environments are a legend in the PS 107 community. Prospect Arbor is his first local exhibition, and the first exhibition for POWERHOUSE on 8th. The show will be on display December 6, 2012—January 6, 2013.

About the Artist:

Daniel Paterna is a photographer and visual artist born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He has photographed Prospect Park and the 12th Street neighborhood (specifically its focal point PS 107) for over a decade. His sparsely inhabited environments, imbued with large-scale panoramas and otherworldly atmosphere, have been the subject of many school auctions and community fundraisers.

Daniel Paterna has studied visual communication at CUNY, and holds a BFA in graphic design from The Pratt Institute. His work is in the permanent collection of The Museum Of Modern Art, and has been published in This Is New York (Scalo) and in The September 11 Photo Project (Harper Collins).
