Writer and educator Susan Hartman curates and hosts a monthly series featuring eminent writers and photographers at the powerHouse Arena in Dumbo, Brooklyn. In the Arena's intimate skylounge, guests informally present their work, then answer questions, chat, and sign books.

About Chantal Heijnen:

Dutch photographer Chantal Heijnen will present her new photo book, Ghost republic Somaliland: democracy against all odds, based on a two-year personal journey through Somaliland, a struggling democratic republic within the failed state of Somalia. She will also give a sneak preview of Bronxites, her passionate, long-term photo project about her adopted neighborhood.
