Acclaimed rapper Prodigy (one-half of Mobb Deep) is freshly out of prison and on tour with his new autobiography, My Infamous Life. He's stopping by the powerHouse Arena for a signing and talk with Touré, host of The HipHop Show on Fuse.

About My Infamous Life:

In My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep's Prodigy, Prodigy speaks for the first time about growing up in his illustrious family and his parents' tragic end, his struggles with drugs, and his life-long battle with sickle-cell anemia and unremitting hospitalizations (he's a Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation national advocate with 'The No Pain Campaign').

Through Prodigy's eyes we watch the birth of today's most influential musical genres and subcultures—an unblinking account of his wild life with Mobb Deep, who alongside New York rappers Nas, The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Jay-Z, and the Wu-Tang Clan, changed the musical landscape with their unapologetic street stories. Jay-Z recently said, "Prodigy at one time was one of the best rappers in the game...he was close to being the best rapper in the game" while promoting his book Decoded. My Infamous Life also provides the inside scoop about the dark side of the entertainment business, the back stories on legendary rap beefs and the East Coast vs. West Coast war, the intimate details about record labels, and encounters with several very recognizable women.

Super-producer Just Blaze, recently named Prodigy in his top 5 emcees of all-time. Considered one of the seminal influences in hip-hop, Prodigy has sold millions of records and continues to thrill fans, who are eagerly awaiting his life story.

About the participants:

Albert "Prodigy" Johnson is an American rapper and—along with Havoc—makes up one half of the platinum-selling, highly revered hip-hop duo Mobb Deep. Just released from a 3-year prison sentence, Prodigy plans to continue making music, and in the Fall of 2011 will tour the country as the Official Ambassador for the Sickle Cell Foundation of America.

Pop culture and music insider Touré is the host of The HipHop Show and On The Record on Fuse. He's the author of Never Drank the Kool-Aid, a collection of published articles, Soul City, a novel, and The Portable Promised Land, a collection of short stories. He is also a Contributing Editor at Rolling Stone, formerly a host and correspondent at BET and was CNN's first Pop Culture Correspondent. He has made numerous television appearances, and his writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Tennis Magazine, the Best American Essays of 1999, the Best American Sportswriting of 2001, and the Best Music Writing of 2004.
