powerHouse helps celebrate the "Mistake & Regrets" issue of a local favorite literary magazine.

About the event:

Slice Literary is celebrating its 11th issue at powerHouse Arena. Contributors from the local lit scene will read their work. Each piece is a brilliant interpretation of this issue's theme, Mistakes & Regrets. Slice is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit organization that aims to bridge the gap between emerging writers and the professional publishing world. In each issue, we publish new work by rising stars alongside interviews with some of today's literary greats.

About the Readers:

Heidi Diehl is a recent graduate of the MFA program at Brooklyn College. Her fiction has appeared in Opium Magazine and Colorado Review.

Her stories have appeared in SLAB (Sound & Literary Art Book), Art Faccia, and Shadowbox Magazine; she has also covered fashion and interior trends for Margit Publications. She designs clothing for her day job, writes in the hours left over, and is currently working on her first novel.

Courtney Maum is a fiction writer based in between the Berkshires of Massachusetts and New York City. A humor columnist for Electric Literature, she has published work online in Tin House, Blip, the Rumpus, Slice, Anderbo, and others.
