These are stories of people in community with one another, in a neverending conversation between where they are and where they are from. Illustrated by the author’s daughter, Yana Mihaylova, the collection nods to Shel Silverstein and is as visually pleasing as it is inventive.
About the Author/ Illustrator.
Sofi Stambo is a fiction writer based in New York. An excerpt from her forthcoming novel, This Train Has Sailed, won the 2024 LitMag Virginia Woolf Award. Her shortstories have won the 2015 DISQUIET Literary Prize for fiction, and been nominated for the 2018 Pushcart Prize. Her work has appeared in many literary magazines, including Guernica, Chicago Quarterly Review, Epiphany, The Kenyon Review, New England Review, AGNI and The Rumpus. Stambo has a master’s degree in literature from Sofia University St. K. Ohridski, Bulgaria, and was a graduate student in Literature at City College, New York.
Yana Mihaylova is a Bulgarian-born and NYC-raised artist and designer. She received her BFA from Cooper Union in 2014, and has studied part-time at Grand Central Atelier, New York Academy of Art, Institute of Classical Art & Architecture, and the Art Students League. She lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
