About the Author.
Sarah Wells is a respected voice in the realm of management, leadership, and the
support of working mothers. With a master’s degree in public policy and women’s
studies from the George Washington University, complemented by a bachelor’s degree
in political science and women’s studies from American University, Sarah brings a
wealth of knowledge and advocacy to her work. Her career spans a decade at Women
in Government, a national bipartisan association for state legislators, where she
championed public policy initiatives aimed at empowering and educating women in
elected office. Sarah’s impact extended to her five-year tenure as the executive director
of the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care, an organization dedicated
to representing the voices of individuals receiving care services in nursing homes,
assisted living facilities, and at home. In 2013, Sarah took her entrepreneurial spirit to
new heights by founding Sarah Wells Breast Pump Bags, dedicated to empowering
mothers with products that enhance their sense of dignity and functionality while
transporting breast pumps to their workplace. Sarah’s distinct vantage point, having
occupied various roles as a manager and a working mother, coupled with her passion
for both organizations and mothers, is underpinned by her direct access to valuable
data gleaned from her business customer relationships that culminates in her first book,
Go Ask Your Mothers.
About the Moderator.
Kate Rockwell is a celebrated Broadway star renowned for her vibrant performances and dynamic presence on stage. Rockwell made her Broadway debut in the 2008 hit “Legally Blonde” and continued to captivate audiences with her performances in hit shows such as “Hair,” “Bring It On: The Musical,” and “Rock of Ages.” However, it was her role as Karen Smith in the Broadway adaptation of “Mean Girls” that truly solidified her status as a Broadway luminary. Her portrayal of the bubbly and naive Karen earned her critical acclaim and a Drama Desk Award nomination. In addition to her stage career, Kate has appeared in various television shows and concerts, showcasing her versatility as a performer. Offstage, she is known for her dedication to numerous charitable causes and her work as an advocate for mental health awareness.
