About the Book.

It’s New Year’s Eve 1982, and as the ball is about to drop and excited partygoers count down, Oona Lockhart is seconds away from turning nineteen years old. Only, when the clock strikes midnight, instead of going from eighteen to nineteen, Oona faints, and awakens in the future as her fifty-one year self. So begins Margarita Montimore’s daring, slyly heartbreaking, and whimsical novel, OONA OUT OF ORDER.

As if jumping from 1982 to 2015 wasn’t tough enough, Oona now has grapple with the reality this won’t be the last time she is ripped from the current year. As her personal assistant-turned- friend explains to her, Oona will now be living her life out of order. As each New Year begins, she will leap to a different age and year of her life at random. Along the way, she’ll get to experience the both best and worst life has to offer through the eyes of a girl becoming the person she is destined to be. With the help of her assistant, and her mom, Oona learns to live in the moment, even when she already knows what the future will bring. Thankfully she finds that some of the greatest things in life are timeless.

Montimore’s uplifting novel is a beautiful reflection on time and the value of every stage of life that readers won’t be able to put down. OONA OUT OF ORDER is a puzzle that only becomes more gripping as the pieces come together.
